This week, from June 30 to July 4, Vilnius will host the 16th edition of the global Transparency International School on Integrity, bringing together more than 120 young leaders, academics, and experts from over 40 countries. This is the largest event of its kind in the world and has brought together a community of more than 1,900 alumni since its launch.<\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored to have been contributing to the global transparency and anti-corruption community for sixteen years already. In light of current global developments, this year\u2019s programme feels especially timely. We will place particular emphasis on practical sessions and experiential workshops, where participants will explore real-life strategies for strengthening transparency and preventing corruption. I hope the inspiring discussions, meaningful connections, and hands-on learning will encourage participants to take action in their home countries, and help spark new initiatives here in Lithuania as well.\u201d \u2013 said Ingrida Kalinauskien\u0117, CEO of Transparency International Lithuania.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the School will place special emphasis on participatory democracy practices, the application of behavioural sciences and strategic communication in the fields of transparency and anti-corruption. Key topics include grand and strategic corruption, anti\u2013money laundering, political integrity, and the role of innovation and new technologies in promoting more informed and accountable decision-making.<\/span><\/p>\n

During practical workshops, participants will analyze real-life case studies and explore ways to strengthen resilience to corruption across various sectors\u2014from politics to business.<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme features speakers and experts from Colombia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Norway, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

In parallel, the OGP\u2013Transparency Fellowship will also take place in Lithuania and Latvia, organized in cooperation with the Open Government Partnership. The Fellowship brings together professionals from the public sector, civil society, and media with significant experience in transparency-related work. Over the course of the week, fellows will visit twelve institutions and organizations in both countries to explore issues such as conflict of interest management, lobbying transparency, whistleblower protection.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Transparency International School on Integrity is organized by Transparency International Lithuania in cooperation with Mykolas Romeris University, and is hosted at the National M. K. \u010ciurlionis School of Art.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s School is supported by the Transparency International Secretariat, the Nordic Council of Ministers, the British Embassy in Lithuania, Go Vilnius, the Taiwan Foundation for Democracy, the Open Government Partnership, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lithuania, the Baltic-American Freedom Foundation, and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.<\/span><\/p>\n

The initiative is co-funded by the European Union.<\/span><\/p>\n
