„The fact that a person affiliated with a political party will own a media outlet is not something new in Lithuania,“ Rugilė Trumpytė stated in an interview with LRT radio show „60 minučių“. According to her, it‘s important not to hide this fact from the public while the news agency should very clearly and publicly say how it intends to avoid the influence of politicians and and how they will ensure a clear line between the administration and the editorial office. According to Rugile it is extremely important to know who controls news agencies, because the content produced by news agencies is being purchased by other media outlets who publicise it across the whole region.
