The 15th Baltic Criminologists Seminar “Crime Control and Prevention in the Process of Integration into the European Union”, was held in Vilnius, Lithuania, from 25 to 26 April, 2003.

The seminar was devoted to the assessment of crime situation in the Baltic States as well as to analysis of crime control and prevention in the context of the European integration. The seminar took the form of round-table discussions covering the following themes: International crime control and prevention in Europe; Corruption: the criminological perspective; Criminological aspects of penitentiary policy; Prospects of criminology and social control facing the challenges of globalization.

Organizers of the seminar are the Centre for Crime Prevention in Lithuania; Law Institute; Transparency International Lithuanian Chapter, Vilnius University, Faculty of Philosophy, Department of Social Theory; Law University of Lithuania Faculty of Law, Department of Criminology.
